Maps located at Independence Hall
with Moorestown on them
During the Revolutionary War, Moorestown was called Moorefields or Moorfield. The Pennsauken Creek was called Moore Creek or Moorefields Creek.

Two of the maps in the Long Hall upstairs in Independence Hall, in Philadelphia, have Moorestown (Moorefields) on them. These maps were essential in planning for battles, and the logistics of soldiers, equipment, and supplies. Above is a picture I took of the map through the glass.

I wasn't tall enought to get a better picture of the second map at Independence Hall. You'll have to squint to see Moorestown. If you head to Independence Hall and get a clearer picture of Moorestown, please send it on. Thanks!
